Favourite song of the year. Yes, I know it's January. Shut up. But...it's not really a wedding song, is it? OR IS IT?
ONLY YOU CAN DECIDE!
I'm putting together an online web app which will help select the songs of the wedding. I'm at the point where I need to let a few people test it out before announcing it properly on the wedding website...so...
Things to bear in mind:
- Internet Explorer is not supported. Sorry. It might work. But I have no idea if it will.
- This is a test run, without IP logging and vote-limiting. Go crazy! But remember I'll be wiping the database and starting again in about a week.
- Come On Eileen is going to be played, no matter how many times you vote it down. It's not a wedding otherwise!
Let me know how you manage to break it…
1. It's not currently letting me add new songs. The form pops up, but doesn't to anything (and doesn't disappear) upon clicking the button.
** I tell a lie... it is adding new songs, but it took a couple of minutes (literally) to add one to the list, and would probably have added it 17 times due to my frustrated clicking. As it is, there are three copies of the same song now.
2. It's too slow to respond to vote clicks.
3. It appears it's double counting every other vote click. Plus when I voted up one of the duplicate song entries, it seemed to vote up its sibling too.
This is all in Chrome 4.0.249.49 (35163) beta, running on Leopard.
P.S. YATGTBMS (AYGWYD)? Colour me surprised :)
Yeah, most of that is serious database issues (it's not releasing locks, which is causing everything else to go wrong). I thought my weekend rewrite had fixed things, but it really hasn't :(. I'm probably not going to be able to go back to it for a week, either - curses!
