How's the job turned out, Ian?

Not too bad. Things are quiet right now, but the person I'm replacing leaves on Thursday; after that, it's just me and my Junior System Administrator to look after things!
It seems like a friendly place to work, I have ideas about how to improve the computer systems which my manager likes, and I've fixed a few problems already :). Admittedly, the SQL/Ingres part of the job is a little daunting, and I'm currently doing a crash course in CISCO routers, to try and learn a little before my safety net leaves!

when the whole network crashes, i will bet it is the cissco router`s log file... it seems incable of overwriting old data with new, and also incabble of operating with out recording logs. (well thats my experince anyway)

as in when the internal memory space is full...
worked fine otherwise, and was fine as soon as the memory was cleared.

Just don't make the mistake I made when I failed my CCNA test (on the first attempt), which was to get everything right in configuring the routers and then forget to execute that three-word command at the end that ensures the router reboots with your configuration: "copy run start" ;).

Oooh, I've already fallen foul of that one, but luckily, I had people looking over my shoulder :)
