This Week's cd:uk
Ooh, the producers are an evil sort re: The Stereophonics, aren't they?
I'm certain that Oasis didn't use to be this dismal. Honest.
Bonnie is going to be hogging all the phone lines in the country next Friday. She's a girl on a mission. A mission for Take That tickets.
"the urban myth that Louis Walsh is made of potassium"
Once again, I think The Style Council revival should be big in 2006. Anyway, Girls Aloud's cover of See The Day loses a lot without vast quantities of fake snow (incidentally, it turns out that if you want something to leak, you should just complain bitterly; the web will take care of you in about a day).
So, the Pussycat Dolls - going the Westlife route already? Poor.
Posted by Ian at November 26, 2005 06:53 AMI wanted Lauren to get a challenge now Myleene's finished hers. I know the first two have hardly broken now ground in television entertainment, but if we're to have those surely Lauren needs a challenge befitting her status.
The blogs on the website, by the way, are magnificent, for Myleene going on about astronomy, Johnny mentioning his band every other sentence (he dropped lyrics on us last time) and Lauren's fantastic method of writing many paragraphs about having celebrities come onto her XFM show and going shopping with Myleene, and then casually dropping in sentences like "I bumped into my friend Kieren Hebden in the street last week when I was with Johny, and he told me Four Tet are doing a gig with Faust." Hi there, Son Of Dork kids!
Posted by: Simon on November 26, 2005 05:13 PMI keep on forgetting about the blogs, so thanks for reminding me about them (the geek in me thinks they should really have RSS feeds, but it might be overkill considering the main audience).
I was waiting for the challenge too! I wonder whether they just didn't have time this week, or perhaps they're dropping the feature to add more space for the acts. I guess they'd also have to fit around Lauren's radio schedule (still haven't got up early enough to listen to that), which might make it a little harder.
Still, one can hope for a 'lock Lauren and Pete in a studio for a week and release the resulting EP' challenge to come…
At 15:23pm today I received a message from Kim (an incredibly fit young lady who always sorts out our blogs on the website) that read: “Mr P! E-mail me your blog or I'll come track you down and give you a smack!” Now as tempting as that did sound, I thought I’d better get on with this weeks blog, and fill you lot in with what I’ve been up to.
Ah, Johnny. His drooling 'Girls Aloud giving each other loving' comment this morning was rather amusing, especially with the 'mmmmmmm' look on his face.
