Stupid Amnesty. What possible purpose could this poll have served? Why vocalise, not to say crystallise, such Neanderthal misogyny? What possible benefit could headlines like "33% think women 'asking for rape'" (this morning's Metro, not word for word BTW) have, other than to legitimise and give credence to the notion that women are asking for it? I'm totally baffled by this. Surely we want to make that type of (pathetic excuse for a) man realise that he is bitter about, resentful of and angry with women for persistently refusing to sleep wth him. We surely don't want to advertise that 1 in 3 people is actually on their side - and WTF about that? Are we now a nation of bitter, resentful, angry putative rapists? See you on the plane, I guess.

I must confess that I don't know of any specific Tebbit reference; it was just that I had just been reading an old piece by Stephen Fry vilifying him and his ways. So he popped into my head first. Shameful, I know…

Wow. That "benefit" in my sentence up there really comes back to bite that last clause in the ass of what I was trying to say!

It wouldn't surprise me about Tebbit though. His brain-mouth filter has been known to fail him on occasion....

Well, firstly, you might want to check your proxy server settings, as your post appears to come from inside the UK ;).
I'm also not sure where you've moved to, especially since I don't think either Austria, Australia, or the US is much better at the moment. Maybe we should all study up our French and move Canada!
