…we love you. But if we ever meet you, we're going to hurt you.

What's he done now? You didn't like Serenity? I haven't seen it yet, but I liked Firefly. (And I finally found Sports Night season 2!)

I liked Serenity, but there are certain points in the film where you hate Mr. Whedon on a level not seen since the end of Buffy's "I Was Made To Love You" episode in Season 5...

The very end, I assume? I'd read that you'd be foolish to expect everyone to make it to the credits in Serenity, is that what you're getting at?
I didn't hate him for that anyway. I hated him for giving Season 6 to Marti Noxon, which led inexorably to episodes like Wrecked, and for the end of Seeing Red.

You are united with my sister on the Noxon front :). I had been quite successful in managing to stay away from all but one spoiler in the film, so there were a few surprises along the way, yes…

I still love 6 though. It's one of my favourite seasons. Could just do without the undertone of preachiness that runs throughout.
Even Jack's going to see Serenity....

Is there anybody out there who is going to claim Season 1?
*crickets*
(Season 2 is of course, also wonderful. Includes a Sylvester McCoy-era Dr. Who villain and neck-snapping Angel! The fate of The Anointed One!)

Do you mean the Judge? I'm not so well versed in Who lore (Alex's surreptitious attempts to make me watch every Dr. Who ever, hopefully without my noticing, notwithstanding) that I can immediately get your reference. Or perhaps you mean the fish men. Personally I think that entire episode was just an excuse to get Xander on the swim team.
I like 2; it just doesn't have Faith.

Good guess! Yes, The Judge from Buffy has more than a few similarities with The Destroyer from the 7th Doctor story Battlefield. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but I thought it was funny at the time.
Ah yes, I can see why Season 3 wins now ;)

Ah. Out of nowhere (I really have little desire for this knowledge and so it's surprising and a little off-putting that it keeps surging forth) I realise that I was probably thinking of The Sea Devils when I thought you might have meant Go Fish. Which, as anyone knows, is a Pertwee story.
Anyway, to return to the point, or at any rate to crawl a little closer to the point, I was prompted to wonder aloud whether the uniformly good reviews Serenity received together with the inability of any reviewer thereof to avoid owning to a hard-on for Buffy (as distinct from Buffy :D) would go any way towards persuading Jack to reconsider his lowly opinion of same. Knowing Jack as you do, I wonder if you can guess... ;).
